The Legal Team of Evara Foundation actively pursue cases of denial of the rights of persons with disabilities. We engage in litigation and advocacy to ensure that the rights guaranteed in Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 (RPWD Act 2016) are given to the target beneficiaries.

Proposal from MoSJE to Dilute RPWD Act 2016
In July 2020 the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment proposed changes in the RPWD Act 2016. These changes, if implemented, would have diluted the Act and encroached the rights of PwD in India.
We launched a Public Signature and Social Media Campaign against these changes. After our concerted efforts, the proposed changes were rolled back.
